Biovita 10mm coco peat is a natural product resulting from the fragmentation of coconut shells and coconut fibers. It is free from any chemical additives. It can be used as a stand-alone substrate or as a supplement to other substrates. Mixed with the soil, it loosens it and aerates it.
Coco peat is used e.g. in a substrate in terrariums, aquariums, animal husbandry and crops.
Benefits:
- it is lighter than peat,
- absorbs water well (regulates water balance, coconut fibers behave like a sponge),
- absorbs nutrients well with water and gradually releases them,
- facilitates the development of roots
Coco peat does not contain too many nutrients, so if it will be used to grow plants, it is recommended to combine it with an organic fertilizer.
