LIME for whitewashing and soil deacidification
Lime for whitewashing trees, ideal for whitewashing all varieties of fruit trees,...
Lime for whitewashing trees from Biovita is a product of natural origin. Lime does not contain toxic substances, it is 100% safe for plants. The ingredients contained in the product increase the adhesion of the solution to the trunk or branches of trees. The product is ideal for protecting plants against pests and strengthens their resistance to low temperatures. Lime also has soil deacidifying properties, it can be sprinkled on the lawn to eliminate moss or used on a vegetable plot if the soil pH is too acidic.
Whitening
The optimal time of application is from October to April. If necessary, e.g. in the event of heavy rainfall, the treatment can be repeated every 3-4 weeks. The product is harmless to plants. Whitewash should be done on a rainless day, preferably sunny, at a temperature above 0°C. Pour 2 liters of water into a container of appropriate capacity, then, avoiding dusting, gradually add lime and mix. Ready lime for whitewashing should have the consistency of thick sour cream. The amount of water can be increased if necessary. Apply the suspension prepared in this way, observing the recommended precautions, evenly with a brush on the trunks of trees and shrubs.
Soil deacidification - liming
Before liming, it is good to check the pH of the soil with a pH meter. Deacidification is carried out in the fall after the end of vegetation or in early spring. In order to avoid dusting, the treatment should be performed in windless weather, spreading lime in a thin layer on the soil in the amount of about 2 kg per 25 m2. After spreading, mix the lime with the soil, e.g. using a metal rake.
